India is turning into world capital for unsecured women. Whenever you go through newspapers, you will find at least one news on every page about molestation, child sex abuse, stripping or anything that would make us stand in vegetative state. The recent case in Guwahati is ofcourse a national shame. This is not crime only against the victim woman but against the whole female community and of course sin against humanity.
All this ends up with a vicious cycle. Increasing crime against women leave a sense of insecurity among parents for their female child and either they end up with female foeticide or keep their girl inside jail turned home. further decreasing sex ratio is direct cause of prostitution and molestation like cases. And uneducated female community will explode this nation. I think it would be of no use to mention here that a strict action should be taken, or government should do something etc. Law makers know exactly what should be done and what to be undone.
In our society, females are considered to be the honour of the family. Any crime against their own girl wreak havoc on the family. Keeping the fear of insecurity in their mind, Baghpat Panchayat of U.P. have issued a diktat against unescorted women visiting the marketplace, entering into love marriage or even carrying mobiles. Although these are for protecting women, but they are highly undemocratic in nature. why cannot the same be issued for men? Anyways our society teaches us "HOW NOT TO GET RAPED" rather than "NOT TO RAPE"
it wud be btr for govts to take strict actions against the rapists than stopping the women from living freely...the day is nt far when common man wud nt be afraid of punishing the culprits on its own..to avoid such conditions to arise it is btr that govt shud wake up
ReplyDelete... @sonal: girls are not even safe in public places with huge crowd.. lyk in guwahahti the mob was simply watching the girl being stripped off!! just think, wud they had done the same, if the victim were their own sister, daughter,,,,
